Asking questions in plain English

A simple how-to for asking the assistant anything using everyday language, mentions, attachments and voice.

Just ask

The assistant understands everyday language. You don't need keywords, exact names or a special format. Write your question the way you'd say it out loud and press Enter.

  1. Open the Chat tab.
  2. Type your question in the message box, for example "What's the status of the Brightwave sales account?"
  3. Press Enter to send.
  4. Read the answer, then keep the conversation going with a follow-up.

Start with a suggested question

Every new chat shows a few ready-to-send starters such as "What's at risk in my pipeline this week?" and "Show me deals closing this month". Click any one to send it instantly — a fast way to see what's possible.

Point at a specific record

Want an answer about one particular contact, account or deal? Type the @ symbol and start the name to attach that record to your question. The assistant then focuses its answer on exactly what you pointed to.

  • Type @: and begin the name of a contact, account or deal.
  • Pick it from the list: that appears as you type.
  • Finish your question: for example, "@Acme Corp — what are the next steps to close?"

Attach a file

You can add a file to your message when you want the assistant to take it into account — handy for a document you want summarised or referenced. Use the attach button next to the message box, choose your file, then type your question and send.

Use your voice

Prefer to talk? Tap the microphone button and speak your question. Your words appear in the message box so you can review and send.

Keep the thread going

Answers often come with follow-up suggestions you can tap to dig deeper. You can also start a fresh conversation any time with the New chat button, and revisit earlier chats from your history.

Tip

Be specific when it helps. "Show me opportunities over $100k closing this month" gives a sharper answer than "show me deals".

Do I have to spell names exactly right?

No. The assistant understands natural language, but using @ to pick a record makes answers about one person or company even more precise.

How do I ask about one specific deal or contact?

Type @ and start the name to attach that record, then finish your question — the assistant focuses its answer on exactly what you pointed to.

Can I attach a document or use my voice?

Yes. Use the attach button to add a file for the assistant to reference, or tap the microphone and simply speak your question.

Can I ask more than one thing in a conversation?

Yes. Each chat keeps its context, so you can ask follow-ups without repeating yourself.

What if I'm not sure what to ask first?

Every new chat shows ready-to-send starter questions — click one and you'll see a real answer instantly.
