Messaging your team on mobile

Send direct and group messages, share files and react, all from your phone.

Your messages live one tap away. Open Messages to see your direct chats and group conversations together, then jump into any thread to reply, share a file or react.

Open your messages

  1. From Chat, tap the Messages action at the top of your assistant thread.
  2. Use the All, Unread or Groups filters to find the conversation you want.
  3. Tap a conversation to open the full thread.
  4. Type your reply and tap Send.

Tip

Use the search box inside Messages to find a person or group fast, even in a busy inbox.

Do more in every thread

  • Reply to a message: to keep the context clear by quoting the message you are answering.
  • React: with a quick tap when a thumbs-up says it all.
  • Share a file: by attaching a document from your phone, with or without a note.
  • See read and typing: so you know when a teammate has seen your message or is replying.

Start a new conversation

  1. In Messages, tap New.
  2. Choose a teammate for a direct chat, or select several people to create a group.
  3. Give a group a name so everyone knows what it is for.
  4. Send your first message, or open the thread and message when you are ready.

Good to know

Direct chats and group chats share the same simple thread, so messaging one person or a whole team feels exactly the same.

Can I send files from my phone?

Yes. Tap to attach a document in the message box, add a note if you like, and send it in a direct or group chat.

How do I reply to a specific message?

Choose Reply on the message you want to answer. A short quote pins above the box so your reply keeps its context.

Can I create a group on mobile?

Yes. Tap New, pick the people you want, give the group a name, and send your first message.

How do I find a conversation in a busy inbox?

Use the All, Unread or Groups filters, or the search box inside Messages, to jump straight to the person or group you need.

Can I tell when a teammate has seen my message?

Yes. Read and typing indicators show you when a teammate has seen your message or is replying, so you know where things stand.
