Search as you type
- Click Search at the top of your email, or press / on your keyboard.
- Start typing a sender, subject, or any words from the message.
- Results appear as you type, grouped into People, Deals and Threads. Click one to open it.
Search looks at the subject, the message text, the AI summary and the sender's name and address. It doesn't search recipients or the contents of attachments.
Browse by folder
Prefer to browse? The folder sidebar keeps everything tidy, with live counts so you always know what is waiting.
- Inbox: everything that needs your attention, with an unread count.
- Sent: messages you have sent.
- Needs reply and Waiting on: conversations where you owe a reply, or are waiting on one.
- Snoozed: emails you've set aside until later.
- Drafts: replies you haven't sent yet.
- Flagged: emails you have starred to revisit.
- Archive: messages you have filed away for later.
- Spam and Bin: junk, and emails you have removed, kept until you clear them.
Good to know
Your most important emails are sorted to the top of every list, so even before you search, the messages that matter most are already in front of you.
Can I search the body of an email, not just the subject?
Yes. Search looks across the sender, subject and the message text, so a phrase you remember from inside an email is enough to find it.
Do I have to press enter to search?
No. Results appear as you type.
How do I narrow things down?
Add more words — a name plus a phrase from the email usually finds it straight away. You can also open a folder such as Needs reply or Flagged first.
How do I find a file someone emailed me?
Search for the sender or a phrase from the email that carried it. Attachment names and contents aren't searched.
Can I search every mailbox at once?
Yes. Search covers all your connected mailboxes and folders unless you pick one.
