Why message inside Ultragent
When you chat where your sales data already lives, you spend less time switching tabs and copying details between tools. A quick question about an account, a heads-up before a call, or a shared file all stay close to the records they relate to.

Start a direct message
- Open Messaging from the main navigation.
- Look under Direct Messages in the left sidebar and choose the teammate you want to reach.
- Type your message in the box at the bottom that reads Type a message.
- Press Enter to send. To add a new line instead, hold Shift and press Enter.
Good to know
Teammates appear in your list automatically once you share a conversation or have them saved as a contact, so the people you work with are always a click away.
Send more than text
Your message box does more than words. Use the row of buttons just below it to make your point clearly.
- Attach a file or image: select the plus button, or simply drag a file onto the chat and drop it.
- Add a GIF: open the GIF picker to lighten the mood.
- Drop in an emoji: open the emoji picker to add a little personality.
- Paste a screenshot: copy an image and paste it straight into the message box.
Tip
When you are ready to send a longer note, press Command and Enter (or Control and Enter) to send without reaching for the mouse.
Know when your message lands
You are never left guessing. A typing indicator shows when the other person is replying, and your sent messages are marked as read once your teammate opens the conversation. Tap any image to open it full size.

Turn on notifications from the Messaging screen to get a gentle alert when a new message arrives, even when you are working in another part of Ultragent.
How do I start a chat with a teammate I have not messaged before?
Save them as a contact or start a conversation, and they appear under Direct Messages ready to message. Anyone you work with is just a click away in the sidebar.
Can I send pictures, screenshots and documents?
Yes. Use the plus button to attach files and images, drag and drop them onto the chat, or paste a screenshot straight into the message box.
Will I know when my teammate has read my message?
Yes. Your message is marked as read once the other person opens the conversation, and a typing indicator shows when they are writing a reply.
Is there a faster way to send a longer message?
